China World’s first 300MW Compressed Air Energy Storage Plant

The world’s first 300-megawatt compressed air energy storage (CAES) plant is located in Yingcheng, Hubei Province, China.
This project, known as “Nengchu-1,” was successfully connected to the grid in April 2024.
It represents a significant advancement in China’s energy storage capabilities and sets new benchmarks in CAES technology
