1. A total of 50 new firkas will be created across Tamil Nadu to improve revenue administration, especially in districts witnessing population growth.
  2. Chennai alone will get 14 new firkas, while other major additions include Madurai (7), Chengalpattu (4), Salem (4), Tiruvallur (2), and Kancheepuram (2).
  3. Each firka, which comprises a group of villages, will be headed by a revenue inspector to enhance local governance.
  4. One new firka each will be set up in districts like Thoothukudi, Tiruvannamalai, Erode, Tirupattur, Dindigul, Cuddalore, Thanjavur, Tiruppur, and Villupuram.
  5. In addition to firkas, the government will also create 25 new revenue villages in districts including Chengalpattu, Tiruchi, and Madurai.
