Sunita Williams and NASA astronaut Butch Wilmore performed repairs on the International Space Station (ISS) on January 31.
They spent 5 hours and 26 minutes outside the station.
With this achievement, Sunita Williams became the female astronaut with the longest spacewalk time, totaling 62 hours and 6 minutes.
Mission timeline:
Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore arrived at the ISS on June 5 the previous year aboard Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft.
They were initially scheduled to return to Earth after 9 days but were unable to due to a technical malfunction with the Starliner.
Return plans: Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore are expected to return to Earth in March aboard a SpaceX spacecraft, as transporting people via Starliner is considered risky.
