1. Thooimai Mission 2025 is a State-level initiative launched by the Tamil Nadu government for sustainable waste management.
  2. Clean Tamil Nadu Company Limited (CTCL) will now come under this mission and be transferred from the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department to the Special Programme Implementation Department.
  3. The mission will provide leadership, policy direction, guidelines, and ensure inter-departmental coordination.
  4. A State-Level Executive Committee will be formed with the Chief Secretary as Chairperson to oversee the mission.
NATIONAL

District-Level (headed by Collector) and Block/Urban Local Body-Level Thooimai Committees will act as intermediary governance units for effective implementation.
