Training and Postings of the Officers

The Directorate conducts Two-Year Foundation Training for the candidates who are chosen through the Civil Services Exam undertaken by UPSC for the post of the DANICS Cadre Probationers.

  • The Officers of DANICS will have their training in New Delhi, in the Union Territory Civil Service Directorate, located in Karkardooma
  • The initial training will be conducted for a period of two years and then the officers are posted as Assistant Collectors (District Administration) or Sub Divisional Magistrates (SDM).
  • Once the officers obtain their seniority, they can be promoted to Senior Grades (JAG-I, JAG-II/SAG)
  • After that, the officers will be inducted into the AGMUT cadre of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS).
  • The DANICS officers will receive their deputation in the Delhi autonomous bodies such as MCD, NDMC, and DDA etc. or they can be posted as Deputy Secretary in various Delhi Government ministries.

Difference between IAS Officers and DANICS officers
